Tourisme & Handicap

The government Tourisme et Handicap brand enables disabled visitors to experience accessible tourism services such as hotel stays, museum tours and sporting activities. It covers the four types of disability: hearing impairment, learning difficulties, motor disability and sight impairment.
Tourisme & Handicap was founded in 2003 by the French Tourism Ministry, industry figures, councils and disabled charities. Over 1100 visitor sites (accommodation, tourist information, leisure sites, activities, nature sites, restaurants) in Nouvelle-Aquitaine have been awarded the label and display the logo at their entrances. It guarantees efficient and appropriate services.
The website lists accommodation, restaurants and activities approved by Tourisme & Handicap throughout NouvelleAquitaine.

destination pour tous
The French Tourism Ministry founded “Destination pour Tous” in 2013. Regions that have improved accessibility for at least two groups of disability, expanded their visitor services and provided new facilities are given the label on a 3-year basis.
Bordeaux and Dax in Nouvelle-Aquitaine have been awarded the label. They provide an all-round and appropriate service for people with motor disabilities and learning difficulties. Transport, accommodation, restaurants, cultural sites, services, sports facilities and accessible sites bear the label so everyone can explore the city.
