Key highlights include the Keep of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Baltard-style market halls, and the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise with Port Boinot, combining port, garden and cultural venue.

3,000 m² of free-access spaces for all audiences. Information centre on Prehistory and the Vézère Valley (15 prehistoric sites and decorated caves in the valley, a UNESCO World Heritage area). Shows, events and documentaries covering 400,000 years of history.

A masterpiece of metal architecture, the gondola of the lift bridge carries you from one bank of the Charente to the other. Discovery of the bridge’s history, the ferry bridge house and its interactive space, and an audio walk. Guided tours by reservation.

Gateway to the old port of La Rochelle. Formerly a lighthouse, the oldest on the Atlantic coast, then a prison. Guided tours in French and English depending on availability. The St Nicolas Tower is closed for works; the Chain Tower and the Lantern Tower remain open.
